Forcing VR game to launch with Oculus.

SteamVR (from what i know) forces you to have controller smoothing making your hand movement slower.
As a competitive player in shooters i know oculus doesn't have this and want faster and responsive gun movement.
I want to know if there is a way or if anyone knows if it is possible to force a Steam store only game (VAIL VR) into launching on only oculus not steamvr.
Someone accidently done it and was not able to recreate it (steamvr had an error and didn't launch but oculus did and it functioned).
Hoping someone can help me with this.

It's a long shot but have you tried just opening the game through the oculus' history page? If the game doesn't require steamvr to run (native vr like Subnautica), it just launches the game without steamvr.

One method, wich might not work with every game is putting "-vrmode Oculus" in the startup settings for the game on steam.
