Error 108 help
So my headset has just randomly stopped being detected, I've had it for a good while now and its worked perfectly since i got it but now for some reason I'm getting Error 108. I've done all the recommended fixes plus a few more and nothing. Is my Vive just dead?

Easy fix. Just unplug your mouse and keyboard while SteamVR is on, once you do that you have tracking again. you can also plug your mouse and keyboard back in.

nope still no dice, its not that its not tracking, its that it just straight up isn't being detected

these 108's on previously working systems are endemic. The only solutions I recall are checking physical cabling and this USB driver problem:

I saw some other random fixes in this thread like resetting SteamVR Direct Mode, or disconnecting certain hardware while PC was on, or changing USB port (which might work because different USB ports can use different USB drivers on some PCs, esp rear motherboard ports vs frontside ports).

I also had a problem with starting vive pro. I found my problem in the ASMedia Root Hub Driver USB driver. It is responsible for USB 3.0 ports on the motherboard. In the device manager, I found that it was broken. And in the USB Devices tab, it was not certified by Microsoft. I removed it from that tab and restarted my computer. After that, the helmet became determined by Steam VR.
