Can you see it rubbing somewhere meaning plastic against plastic or if it's inside?
Plastic is fairly easy to fix just slip an exacto blade in between and see if it moves. Sometimes with use the pieces shift one way or the other you just have to put it back where it was
If it comes from inside don't even try, contact Steam

you can RMA but I would just deal with it tbh. I RMAd my controller because it was having this issue and the one they sent back starting squeaking hours later lmao. I have heard from some people holding down the trigger and blowing on it can reduce the squeak.

Do not RMA over this. It's a dumb reason to give up a perfectly good controller otherwise for. I've been through half a dozen left and right controllers, and every single one squeaked at one point or another. Either just deal with it, or if you're feeling adventurous, get a non-conductive lubricant spray and pull the trigger back partially, then spray the nozzle into the trigger chamber. This should hopefully lubricate the spring that is causing the squeak. Otherwise just deal with it until the spring wears down the part where it's squeaking and it will stop. Usually goes away after a solid week of use.
Is the squeak just noise or active resistance/impeding function?

I had audible squeaking before with no change to trigger function or sensitivity and it went away for me.

Have this too, super annoying especially since it's so loud I can hear it while I'm playing games.

my controller trigger started to squeak too but it went away on it's own after i used it for a bit.
so use the trigger and it will (hopefully) go away like it did on mine

dust might have gotten there so try blowing in there it's better if you have some compressed air

i also have a squeaking on my right index controller from time to time. it comes and goes but it happens very rarely

my controler started squaking from day one. it really would be a problem if it wasn't so loud you can hear it ingame

Yes it can be fixed but it requires an in depth disassembly of part of the controller and the greasing of two springs with an appropriate plastic / electronics safe grease or servicing by Valve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H39FYS7BqZo

Do NOT try and fix it. Live with it unless you want the expense of buying a new controller.

Thank you so much, blowing on it actually worked. Your 2 Year old tip saved me from this annoyance.

I've been working on fixing Oculus Quest 2 controller issues like squeaks and drifting joysticks, and here are some effective solutions:

Use Lubricant for Squeaks:
-Apply electronic-specific lubricant, like WD-40 for electronics, to the squeaky parts of the controller.
-Ensure the lubricant is safe for electronics and VR devices.
Compressed Air for Squeaks:
-Use a can of compressed air to clean around the buttons causing squeaks.
-Press the button while applying the air for best results.

Toothpick Method for Joystick Drifting:
-Use a toothpick or a similar small tool to gently clean around the joystick’s base.
-Rotate the joystick during cleaning to reach all areas.

Blowing Air for Joystick Cleaning:
-If the toothpick method seems risky, try using compressed air around the joystick while it’s moved in one direction.

Remove Batteries to Reset:
-Take out the controller’s batteries for about two minutes to reset and potentially fix drifting issues.
-Reinsert the batteries and check if the problem persists.

Restart PC and Headset:
Often, a simple restart of both devices can resolve connection or functionality issues.

Check for Software Updates:
-Ensure the Oculus software and controller firmware are updated.

Contact Oculus Support:
-If the issue continues, reaching out to Oculus Support for possible replacements or further troubleshooting is advisable.

Each of these methods helped in resolving the controller issues effectively. Feel free to check out my post for more details on any of these fixes!
