Losing connection to my Headset
Hi everyone,
I just got the Valve Index and everything has been setup according to the manual. I can enter Steam VR and navigate the home screen (you know the VR environment).
After approx. 5 min, sometimes sooner, sometimes later the picture on my headset start to flicker, the sound get al krrrrrkrkrkrrrrr and then I lose the conection to the headset. Interestingly however, when I project the headset to my computer screen it still seems to be working. When I disconnect the headset and reconnect it, it works again. So far I have to do this every time when I start VR.
Has anyone encoutered a similar problem? It's really annoying.:steamsad:

It's true. Reinstalling didn't solve the problem. You need to remove your desplay drivers completely and the reinstall everything - solved. Thank you <3

Update:
The problem is still here. Although now the camera seems to be working fine (unlike before) the connection to the headset sill gets lost after about 2 mins after starting up. Still need to disconnect the DP Cable and reconnect in order to run VR over a longer period.
Again: Problem not solved, although all display drivers have been properly removed and then reinstalled.

Maybe this? Razor Cortex Optimization software causes HMD disconnect:

Nope. As I was saying: "When I disconnect the headset and reconnect it, it works again. So far I have to do this every time when I start VR."

It's a little like this issue, maybe try a different USB host?

I already tried to change the usb and it does not fix it. It requires using the 3.0 usb which I am using

My Index has the same problem since 6 hours ago. I have reinstalled anything nothing works. I installed windows new, installed driver for the 3090 and steam, nothing else, not working anymore. The index shows a picture for a secound, then steam vr shows a diconnect, grey screen, a secound later again picture for a secound and after that basestation went off and steam vr shows "your hmd is not connected".

guys you always wanna plug into the graphic card its 100% insurance i had a same problem add me for the solution never plugg it into motherboard cause if u dont have 2 cpus or your graphics are not integrated then welp things like this will happend also there is another solution for exmaple i got rtx 2060 and im using displayport to hdmi adapter.

I tried a GRAPHICS port to USB-C adapter for the Reverb G2 and that did not work. The 3090 card only has 3 Graphics and one HDMI port

yeah I am perma stuck in standby mode. It just wont display through my gc (2070 super)

For everyone here if you are still on warenty get a replacement cable. I fear mine is borked out of the box. Even tilting the headset can damage these things welp
