Oculus Quest 2 | Lag and fps drops make playing games unplayable
I have an Oculus Quest 2. I also plan on playing some steam games with it.

Cut the backstory; whenever I try to play *any* game on Steam V.R., the game would always have terrible performance: the framerate is constantly in the single digits, and whenever I try to look around, the graphics are cut off due to trying to load in.

By the way, if anyone was wondering, this is my rig as Nvidia puts it:

GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q Design
Driver version 461.09
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
15.9 GB RAM
1920 x 1080, 240Hz

The V.R. is an Oculus Quest 2 accessing Steam V.R. via Oculus Link. Supersampling is also disabled. The games I've played that bring the same results of complaints stated above are "Half-Life: Alyx", "Phantasmaphobia", and "V.R. Chat".

If anybody has ANY idea on what may be the cause of unstable gameplay, please tell me.

could there be any issues with your cable?
Also I found more success wirelessly accessing STEAM VR. I followed the attached link and it works great! Hope this Helps.

I've tried BETA. Sadly, it didn't solve the issue.

Might be the nvidia drivers since one of the newer versions of it caused issues with vr in general. Try downgrading them and see if that fixed it.

I tried it. I was skeptical, but it really does work like a charm. Great graphics and little latency. It's such a shame that the actual Oculus Link cord couldn't work with the P.C. It makes me want my money back! :steamfacepalm:
Same problem here !
OculusLink + Oculus Appa + Steam VR = Disaster, shutter, lagging,
I have RTX2060 Ryzen 7 16G RAM
Please HElp ! What's going on?
This can be an issue with the last few releases of NVIDIA drivers. Disable all GPU monitoring software, including MSI Afterburner, geforce experience, and any other monitoring software. I've even heard iCUE can cause issues.
Yo thanks a lot for this. I keep trying to play fnaf help wanted 2, and all I see is pixels. This is making the game unplayable and not enjoyable. I can barely move my hands or select stuff making the game very slow. If you do not know some minigames in the game are very fast paced, and you have to react fast. Another quistion is if every game on steam playable in vr?
