Gaming in SteamVR Theater: 3D SBS support?

Hello,

Is it possible to play stereoscopic 3D games in SteamVR Theater mode? Games that have a fullscreen half side-by-side 3D display option.

I know that there are 3rd party apps that support that - such as Virtual Desktop, but I wanted to know if base SteamVR can do it.

Actually I'm a game dev with 2 games released on Steam, and both have a built-in 3D H-SBS mode:
