Oculus Quest 2 link keeps disconnecting in SteamVR

Occurs with any VR game I play. In the middle of playing i get a disconnect message in my headset and it kicks me back to the oculus home. On my pc screen, the game is still playing but steamvr message says to quit or restart due connection issues. I’ve been playing well over a month without any issue. Just started happening.

My Hardware:
Intel cpu
2080 rtx gpu
Official oculus quest 2 link cable

I have the same problem and i have a verry vr able laptop and a good cable and it just doesnt want to run without kicking me out

Was playing on my Quest 2 and I just got booted out of Star Wars Squadrons after about 10-20 minutes of gameplay when I was using the link cable. When I had air link on I didn't get booted but games would freeze pretty often like I was about to be.

The solution for me was using a USB-A to USB-C adapter and connecting it to a thunderbolt 4 port on my laptop, using the normal usb3.0 ports didn't seem to provide enough power to the headset, now it doesn't kick me out of link.
For desktop users, I guess the solution would be to use the ports on the back of the pc that are directly on the motherboard, that way it should provide enough power.
I use a kiwi design 5m cable.
