You should be fine, your GPU is listed as supported on the website[support.oculus.com].

Edit: depending by the game you will need to do some tweaking though, the new res is quite higher than before, but you could definitely start enjoying before upgrading your card.

The Quest 2 is a standalone headset and runs on its own hardware. If you’re planning on getting a PC headset, a 1060 6gb will hold >75fps well for most games.

Bear in mind that oculus is now facebook and it is very likely that they will prevent oculus hardware from accessing non-facebook markets once they have a larger base. The quest and quest 2 are basically cellphone hardware. If you don't mind subpar graphics, crappy framerates and overpriced software then you might consider the quest.

There is an app called Virtual Desktop (which Facebook already stopped from accessing Steam) that will allow you to access your desktop PC.... but you need to go to a site called sidequest and sideload an app companion that allows it to do what facebook would not.

.......also remember that everything you do and everything and everyone you see and every word you say will be recorded and sold to foreign governments and corporations to use in any way that they see fit.

Do you think that it is unthinkable that the video and data that they steal from you will ever show up on social media or in some other venue?

I'd think carefully before buying a Facebook device if I were you. I got rid of my Facebook VR gear last month. I had more than $2500 invested in the platform...... also, know that newer, better stuff is coming.... Good luck!
