playing vr like a wii
i know this might seem ridicilous but i want to play vr on a flat screen only with the motion controllers (basically like a wii). i wanted to see if there is any way to move the prespective without using the actual headset. the idea seems overly ridicilous and i agree but i think it would be fun

This technology is widely used in the film industry with some 3D programs and cameras.

This is part of the reason why the motion controllers industry wide need to be fixed to hold parity with the existing flat controller standard. IE. Put things like D-Pads back onto them.

When Motion controllers can replace my Xbox controller as the only controller I need to play games inside and outside of an HMD. IS when PCVR will finally take itself seriously.

I don't know why the rest of these morons can't seem to figure out that the controller being complete crap is one of the primary reasons for VR's slow crawl.

Which controller is that. The one that has to designate left A buttons or Right A button? Instead of XY at the very least to give you a clear understanding of which button without the need to add an entirely new word definition to differentiate just 1 letter of the alphabet form another?

People should be fired over the Index Controller.

UI prompt on screen, pick one.

Press X
Press Left A

Press Y
Press Left B

KISS. You know what that acronym stands for.

No, I spotted a problem with VR 4 years ago, a self induced problem. It didn't start just this morning.

Due to incompetence in charge of controller designs feeling the need to "Change" it on behalf of people who are so tired of pressing buttons to play games. VR Gaming is focused on people who hate playing games. It's really dumb.

When Buttons and Motion in general can co-exist together without inteferring with one another.

IE. The inclusion of more buttons on the controller does not stop Motion support from happening.

Not every game I play with an Xbox controller makes use of the D-pad. Does that mean Xbox controllers should remove the d-pad?

That's what VR controllers said. "Let's Delete buttons" Even though the Quest 2 controller has MORE than enough space to continue to provide them. Just so you could get a spot to "rest" your thumb. Because apparently some people can't touch a joystick without it pushing out from center.

Even though Millions of gamers have been resting their thumbs on top of thumbsticks for 20 years now with Xbox controllers. Nope, a dedicated thumb rest was more important than parity with a modern day gaming controller inputs.

i already have issues with the current 3 buttons, not being able to press them all at the same time. yet you want a DPAD???? that is such a bad and an uncomefortable idea i don't know how did it even pop up in your head. vr buttons are enough for now.

Eos is a Troll. Has been for years and keeps regurgitating this crap that we should only use xbox controllers in VR.

Do yourself a huge favour and don't engage with his ridiculous nonsense. do yourself a favour...block him and move on.

there is a way to do what you're asking. would take alittle tweaking to get buttons to act like a look up/down or left/right and some 3rd party software (d4vr) it would work.... doesnt come with a seal of approval

simple solution .

1. buy 3 or more projectors and build a stand for them so they can project a complete 360degree room to stand in.

2. build a custom pc to run all three or more projectors and that will keep you at good fps.
"water cooled " as your temps will be warmish

3. may need to look at getting a wireless adapter for your VR so not tangled with wires, as you want to have free movement

4. find a way to mount your VR to your head comfortably

5. next developer mode display what you see on screen.

other tips good aircon in room as projectors will generate heat.

this setup you may need to get a small loan from the bank as it will depend on how amazing you want it.

projectors would be best as this will make your room look like what you see.
TV's and monitors ruin immersion.

also note.
if you dont have a round room you can always get a carpenter to build sum round frames to make a round room.

post sum pics would love too see how it turns out
