Does the Cosmos Elite work with Index base stations and Vive pucks??
I'm looking to change my headset from the Index to something else, but I still have the index controllers and tracking stations. I read that it supports "SteamVR tracking" but I'm not quite sure as to whether or not that means it works with index base stations and vive pucks. I've had issues with the index headset, but the controllers and base stations at the moment seem to be working for me. So I was looking at potentially a different headset. I know the cosmos uses external tracking.

So basically, if I get just the Cosmos Elite headset, could I use it with my Index base stations, index controllers, and vive tracker pucks?

Thanks.

Do you run the cosmos wireless?
I can't get mine to power up the HMD. Remains dead although I use the 21 V battery.

"If you find that your headset doesn't work or power on at all with the Vive wireless installed, try these fixes. Make sure that the battery is plugged into the Vive Wireless adapter via the USB cable. Make sure the Vive Wireless adapter is plugged into the Vive headset with all three cables."

Did you get the vive wireless cable that allows you to connect to the cosmos?
Did you install the vive software?
Did you click the power button on the vive wireless?
did you launch and sync the wireless with the vive wireless connectivity app?
The vive wireless will not just power on with any old battery. It is specific to the wireless and it needs to be compliant.

I did all the steps I believe. The wireless connected all the way but didn’t power the cosmos headset. The red led remained lit and the small button had no effect.

how about a direct cable connection without the wireless. Does it work this way?

I tried that but failed too because the lighthouses are out of sight then in the other room. Steam VR showed the grey room but the HMD was black.

Did you install the vive cosmos software ontop of the wireless adapter software?

Not sure actually. I only see the wireless software.
I had skipped the Vive software due to wanting to avoid there shop. Opened it now and downloaded the software. Will try in the morning to see if it detects the HMD.

Edit: Now it works after installing their software. Quite low FPS and flickering in Alyx compared to the original Vive. I use a 1080 card.
