Disable controller vibration/rumbling
Sincerely, i hate the vibration on controllers. All it does is to drain battery and force me to recharge the controller. I've also experienced that it can get stuck sometimes and i have to turn it off.

I've tried settings-bindings-gamespecific under Steam VR, but the settings people mention to disable rumbling just isn't there. I've also considered opening the controllers and snipping the cables to the vibrators, but the screws on the Vive controllers use some sort of nanometer sized insect-key that i haven't seen before.

Honestly, i dont get the point of having the feature on the controllers, it's not a bloody XBox controller for 5 year olds who play racing games. I mostly play games WITHOUT controller for this reason and only turn them on if i really, really, really, really have to because of this "feature".

So if anyone have an idea how to disable this piece of ♥♥♥♥ feature that has been the bane of me using controllers, pleeeeeeaaaaase share.

Hi,
i would also love to disable the controller vibration as some games just seem to over use it and it starts to annoy me.
i also read that you can turn it off through the "haptics" option but i didn't find that anywhere.

I googled this issue and some folk are saying the option may only be in the beta version. But knowing Valve, this option is probably now removed. Might be worth checking though.

i finally managed to turn it off!

in Steam VR go to Settings>Controller>Manage Controller Bindings >Choose for wich App/Game you want to remove it> Active Controller Bindings : COSTUM >
Edit this Bindings > Edit Haptics > Unused.

oh and MAYBE if you dont find the option try the Steam Vr beta. I updatet before searching for it again

Glad you got it to work ok. I read people also did a similar thing, but you had to turn it off while in game. If you do it before, the option re-enables again. Unless that was done a different way?

Tried it (with a game on and off), but when i clicked Custom and edit, nothing happened. Valve should really sort this out. Good that it worked for you, but doesn't solve my problem wanting a generic off-switch for ALL games/apps.

If anyone is still having issues finding the option, you just open the steam vr menu, then click on the "windows mixed reality for steam VR settings" tab - input. its in there, hopefully that works fir ya enjoy

Hi, did all those steps:

in Steam VR go to Settings>Controller>Manage Controller Bindings >Choose for which App/Game you want to remove it> Active Controller Bindings : CUSTOM >
Edit this Bindings > Edit Haptics > Unused.

And also used "Publish to Workshop" as well as "Save Personal Binding" and also "Replace Default Binding" but still Vibration is on. Do i need to restart the game ? Do i need to do those steps with game closed ? Do i need to restart Steam and / or steam vr to make it work ?

I also see a red message "default 2". Hovering it says "These actions have not been bound: Suggested: pose - Suggested: Haptic"

What does that mean ? How can fix this issue ?
