Downgrading SteamVR

Anyone know how I can go about downgrading SteamVR? I am convinced my vive is not working properly due to the most recent update.

exit steam, and install it by deleting your SteamVR folder (probably in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common) and extracting this there to replace it. make sure you have your updates set to "only update this tool when i launch it"

didnt work for me but it has worked for some people, just uninstall and reinstall to go back to the current version if you want

Please do update this thread if you figure this out. My Vive Pro is also not working properly.

I've done it but it's really complicated. There's a list on Reddit of all the depots you need to make it work. Then there's a process and order of operations to blocking Steam from updating it and also getting it to run properly. I largely don't recommend it, and that's coming from someone who was quite happy to use the Steam console to download old game patch versions to get around broken updates. SteamVR is a whole different level of annoying to pull off a downgrade on.

There's a 1.15.12 branch available in the beta section of SteamVR. Just find SteamVR in your software tools list, then go to properties, then beta, then pick the bottom one in the list.

It works much better for me, can't believe Valve pushed this release out like this!

Just realised how old this thread is, but it's very relevant now as 1.16.8 seems to have broken functionality for a lot of people!

Hi guys... does anyone have a problem with meta quest 2 after last update? It's says "connection to host pc lost, restart steam vr"... it can be after 2 minutes of playing or after 20 minutes of playing.
