HTC Vive screen goes white out of nowhere during gameplay
As the title says, my htc vive goes all white after 5-10 minutes of playing session. It never did this until i clumsily dropped the headset from my shoulder height. To be exact it was not a hard hit and i put my foot under it so it did not hit directly to the floor. By the way the headset has protective silicon around it. But this problem occurred after this little accident. I am wondering if screen going white and losing sync has anything to with this and if so what should i do make sure it works properly. Note that i have everything updated and base stations are working fine and there is no reflective surfaces around the play area.

Could be something loose, or an electrical connection failing when it warms, especially if it's turning white. Is it really white and not grey? Does it stay white or come back in a few seconds? Does the desktop mirror show tracking is working, or lost?

Mine does too (but grey, not white), and only a few seconds every few hours, and coincides with tracking loss in the system report such as:

You could upload your SteamVR system report to google drive or drop box and post a link.

It is just pure white for some seconds then it comes back but during the white screen steam vr says it lost traction and the display of game looks really abnormal. When it fixes itself, it does not stay fixed for long and same things happens again.

Try unplugging the connectors from the headset and plugging them in again. Might have strained and loosened them when it fell.
