1. Close Steam.
2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Common, cut all SteamVR folders
3. Go to your <other game directory>\steamapps\Common, paste folders there.
4. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\, cut appmanifest_228980.acf and appmanifest_250820.acf
5. Go to <other game directory>\steamapps\, paste appManifest_*.vcf files here.
6. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps, open libraryfolders.vdf with notepad
7. Find section with "path" pointing to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\ (you'll see double backslashes '\\' instead of '\')
8. Find section with "path" pointing to <other game directory> (same regarding backslashes)
9. From "apps" of section from point (7), move 2 lines mentioning values "228980" and "250820" to section from point (8).
10. Save file, close notepad.
11. Start Steam, it might give you a popup about updating some paths regarding SteamVR
12. Enjoy VR.
Side note, you might need a Steam restart or 2 before the VR Icon re-appears in top right of the window

besides the constant change and growth of steam and such, it will fill up your system drive, which is never a good idea. a side-effect of having them on another drive/partition is that you never have to reinstall any of the games again, maybe just the launchers. i have several steam folders over different disks and use that install for years basically. after win reinstall, i just install steam in my main steam folder and all is still there. if you keep your profile/user folder (for windows) on c: you might have to backup your saves (for the non-cloud save games).
besides that, deinstall, reinstall on the desired drive!?
