Desktop VR View Looks Cropped?
So I'm playing around with Beat Saber and the desktop has a window that displays the view in the headset. What's weird is that the 2d view on the desktop seems cropped a bit. For example, the player can see the incoming obstacles just fine, but for everyone watching the desktop, they're looking above the blocks, just barely seeing the tops of them.

I later compared the headset and desktop views later on, and it seems like they match pretty well, but the desktop view is just a limited section of the VR one. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any way I can get the full VR view to display on the desktop? This is mostly just so other people can see what the one person with the headset can see.

The easiest way is to display the headset mirror, it will show you exactly what is used for the headset and as such will likely show even more than what you can see, though it depends on your eye-relief.

You show it by going to the SteamVR window, bring up the drop-down and choose Display Mirror. In this window you can choose either eye or both, but cannot apply any custom cropping so it'll most often be an image ~circle so maybe not exactly what you want.

Another option is to use OBS[obsproject.com] and the OpenVR Input plugin[github.com] and display a full-screen preview on the display you want to use to show the game. Then you can make a custom crop entirely after your needs.
