Windows 10 build 2004 and steam vr problem
Hi, so I recently clean installed my pc and upgraded to the latest windows 10 2004...
I am having problems with steam vr / vr monitor (screenshot bellow-link). I already tried reinstalling steamvr and installing the dx end-user runtime but for some reason it says there's one that's already installed. probably from another game... but anyways. my htc vive hmd displays but it is not calibrated since I reset the pc. I can manually run the room setup but I would like to see the steamvr status window as well as vr mirror for recording videos... Also for some reason the hmd says that I have no games installed when I have beatsaber and vrchat installed...

also, I don't want to revert to windows 1909 because I finished reinstalling all the softwares and that would be a hassle for me to do it...

any suggestions or help will be appreciated

Thanks

Build 2004 is already known to be extremely problematic. I already blocked it by enabling the metered setting amongst others. I recommend you bookmark this site and keep it handy....
askwoody.com. It's a wealth of info regarding Windows 10 update issues and warnings too. If unsure about updates, visit it. I always get a list of Windows updates, make a note of the KB number and search for it on askwoody. If there are issues, it will usually tell you. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Ive had my platefull of issues with SteamVR, I don't want more with alpha releases of microsoft updates.

thanks ymo i'll see if I encounter anymore problems with my windows.. But I already found a fix for this... my D3DX10_43.DLL was probably corupted. so I deleted it from system32 and downloaded one from the internet. and swapped it with that one,,,
I tried reinstalling dx runtime but that doesn't do anything. so swapping the dll one that's on the internet fix my problem.

hope I can help someone who's having the same problem as me. here's the download for the fix. https://www.dll-files.com/d3dx10_43.dll.html

I also had a lot of issues with SteamVR sind I've updated to 2004. The only workaround for me since I missed my opportunity to rollback to earlier Version was to Split my SSD in Diskmanager to create a second Install of Windows on version 1909 and dualboot from it. Hope this gets fixed soon but I haven't figured out another way so far...
