Basestation/Lighthouse Interference
Considering getting an Index but have heard issues about lights and reflective objects interfering with the basestations.
I have an 011 Dynamic PC case, so reflective glass on two sides with lights inside. The lights can be turned off easy enough and already have to for any games using god forsaken Easy Anticheat.
I can't exactly through a cover over the glass without potentially blocking the top radiator though.

Anyone have experience with these problems or even better, use a similar setup themselves?

Louvers for air vents, carpets for floors, curtains for windows.

SteamVR tracking is not that sensitive. Sometimes somebody might get problems that may be caused by reflective surfaces or some other unknown sources. Reflective surfaces are not a big or common issue. Like in many other IT problems, those few who have issues tell them in the internet and those thousands who don't have issues are not telling that they don't have issues. Reflective surfaces causing problems was a popular topic back in 2016, now people have learnt how to install their base stations and do the setup correctly, so they don't need something unknown to point at. Also Index's v2 base stations are not as sensitive as v1 base stations as they don't use separate infrared sync between base stations.

I had to run Vive on an office where I had glass walls and windows on almost every side of the VR space, but I didn't have any issues regarding reflections during the two years I used Vive there. I had some other issues that I knew were not caused by reflections. There was one window and I just made sure that no sunlight come in, but the inner glass was still a reflective surface. From 360° view around the space probably around 270° was covered with glass.
