Originally Quest's link cable worked only with USB 3.x and Quest having USB-C you needed either USB-C port in your PC or USB-A to USB-C cable. Tricky part was to find USB-A to USB-C cable/adapter that actually was supporting USB 3.0 speeds, while many supported enough power, but only USB 2.0 speeds.
Now they have updated software and Quest will work in USB 2.0 too, even with its own charging cable (more info[www.roadtovr.com]). So, now you can use Quest if you just have an extra USB port, any type and speed. Bandwidth might be limited on USB 2.0 cable, but it should work.
