Is ViveCraft Safe To Use?
I'm one of those people who are really picky on what they download and I tried to play Minecraft VR with a Oculus Rift. I had a old account so I got it on windows 10 then was very disappointed to realize that they didn't have the punching physics where you punch in real life and it starts breaking/attacking the mob/block! I saw that ViveCraft was one of the things that would give that ability.

Long story short I want to know if it's safe to use.

(THIS THREAD IS OLD DON'T REPLY WITH ANSWER ANYMORE PLEASE)

Apps can contain anything and nobody outside from the developer really doesn't know what when the code is proprietary (not public). An IT professional could trust more about an app which code is public, because then anybody who has enough knowledge could check the code by themselves to see if it contains any malicious parts.

You can go to Vivecraft main page http://www.vivecraft.org/ and you can see a link: jrbudda's Github . It leads to the project's github site (Github is a common site for hosting applications' source code). Vivecraft's code is public, so they can't hide any malicious code there that easily, otherwise someone would have reported about it. As an IT professional I would trust much more about apps which share their source code than apps that don't.

Just remember to download it from the original source (their site or github). Main risk for any web downloads is third party downloading sites. They can add mallware and viruses to installers, so it's better to avoid any sites which just offer downloads (apps, drivers, etc.) from various sources. Try always to find the original source.

i think it should be safe, because minecraft mods edit other files ..in a good way.. how do i know this? well my friend downloads mods everytime and he told me do not worry it is just that it edits file. thats why the antivirus blocks it. but at the other side im not very sure.
