Oculus Rift Still worth it in 2020?
i am considering to buy an Oculus Rift but i am afraid if it still support the latest VR games or not.
is the old Oculus Rift still worth it in 2020 or should i buy the Oculus Rift S?
the price difference is around $250 in my country.

So the "old" Oculus Rift, also called the CV1 is still supporting all new titles, and will probably do so for the next years to come. So you don't need to worry about it getting outdated.

The main reason why someone should buy the Rift S is that it doesn't need external sensors. The improvement of the screen resolution is pretty small, so I would say that is not worth 250$.
(I am also still running the old Rift)

The old Rift's tracking system was a dead end, so you won't be able to use it as an upgrade path.

The Rift S has some deficiencies, like lack of physical IPD adjustment. It only works well for people with a pupil distance of around 65 mm (the higher the difference, the blurrier the image).

The CV1 is a very viable headset in 2020. If I were to upgrade it would only be for finger tracking but to be honest the touch controllers are really close in some games to perfect.

I have yet to find a game that doesnt work on my old rift. Half life Alyx works fantastically. Now newer headsets will look better, but its still very usable. The tracking is fine, even if not as cool as some of the new stuff.

Hey man just good luck when you're needing to find a replacement cable if it goes bad. cause Oculus support doesn't supply Cv1 cables anymore.. and the only option there really is Ebay that sells them for 80-100$ for one cable, it's insane!
