Samsung Odyssey Plus not working with SteamVR
Hey i just purchased my Samsung Odyssey Plus headset and did the necessary setup of downloading SteamVR and Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR. I load up the mixed reality and scroll while in vr through steam to select the SteamVr app and ive even tried just straight from my desktop. Either way i select the steamvr app and it loads as if its going to open it says its going to launch and then takes me through the black screen as if its loading me into it then i pop right back into the cliff side house. Ive watched multiple videos and have tried almost everything i could find and still have had no luck, i know my computer is compatible but still dont know how to solve the issue.

1. Download Windows Mixed Reality for Steam VR. (Steam Store) and install.
2. Open Widows mixed reallity portal.
3. Run Steam.
4. Run Windows Mixed Reality for Steam VR
5. Wait for Steam VR to open and you should be set to go.

This is the method that I use. Hope this helps

So i just tried your method and it acts as if its going to load me from the mixed reality portal into the steam vr like it goes to the loading screen and then i see 4 white balls moving and then it just closes and doesnt load me in and sends me right back to the mixed reality house

I have the same problem. I used my headset with SteamVR a couple days ago and after the latest update it does the same thing as described above. It's trying to load but drops me back to the Mixed Reality room with a "SteamVR has encountered a critical error" message. I need help fixing it :(

Do some games work while others don't? For the games that don't work from within SteamVR, try navigating directly to the game's .EXE file and launching it that way (e.g. D:>Steamlibrary>steamapps>common>Compound>compound.exe) That's the only way I can get certain games to launch.

Good luck!

I am also having this problem. I've reinstalled windows from scratch, tried so many scenarios. This all started after updating my Geforce driver for my GTX 1080 to 445.75. I tried rolling it back, but still have issues.

I really want a fix, I can't play Half LIfe at this point. IF Steam VR won't even load, how can I expect Half Life to load.

Thanks for anyone who solves this.

Not sure if you have the same problem as I had (Error 301 causing steamvr to crash), but you can try this and see if it works:

Close everything VR-related (Windows Mixed Reality, Steam VR, etc)

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\resources\settings and open up your default.vrsettings file with notepad.

Edit "forceDisableDX12": false >>>>>> "forceDisableDX12": true.
This is what your file should look like https://i.imgur.com/9hhCpLH.png

Save the file, restart the computer, and then try launching Steam VR for Windows Mixed Reality directly from Steam.

So ive figured it out guys after about a week of trying lmao anyway make sure your Windows mixed reality for steam VR is running in i think it was lkq beta mode. Then make sure Steam Vr is in beta and that should be the fix also your steam account has to be in beta which can be done by selecting steam in the top left, then settings and finally where it says beta participation select Steam Beta Update.
