SteamVR

Recording in VR
I want to record some Il-2 VR flights using Shadowplay, but the default mode records both eyes.
Any tips on how to record just one perspective?

Thanks

I just use this plugin: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/openvr-input-plugin.534/
In OBS Studio: https://obsproject.com/download

A different way I guess could be to record the mirror on the desktop? Not sure there is any one-click solution like Shadowplay though. That said, I've recorded all my VR gameplay using OBS so not even sure what can be done with Shadowplay, even if I use NVENC 😅

If you launch steamvr, click on the top left of steamVR control panel, you should get a dropdown menu than includes "Display VR View." Click it and your desktop will mirror the vr view, click "main" in the upper left, and change the view to whichever eye you want. Then use shadowplay to record your desktop.

thanks. Thing is, there are separate screens for SteamVR and the application screen where both eyes are displayed.

I can turn off SteamVR but I can't figure out how to turn off the app one, cause that's the one Nvidia Shadowplay sees

Can you bring the SteamVR screen in front of the app screen, then have shadowplay record your whole desktop?

I probably can, that's a good idea!

Question is, does it affect the performance much? Cause now I'm rendering in VR, in the game screen AND in SteamVR screen
