HTC Vive Pro in Windows 7 ?
Hi guys,

I need some advice/info from you guys. I'm considering getting the HTC Vive Pro however it doesn't list Windows 7 in its minimum requirements. Does anyone know if it's compatible despite this?

I'd rather not change my OS btw.

Thanks in advance!

If you don't want to change OS's, then you should reconsider doing VR. If you can get any VR to run on Windows 7, you're doing better than you're supposed to be able to do!
Windows 10 IS required for the PRO.
Change OS's or forget VR.

Is there a specific reason why Windows 7 would not work?

Also I use 8.1 and a Pro, so Windows 10 (yuck..) is not "required".

Update : I bought the Vive Pro thinking at worst I'd have to bend over and install Windows 10. Good news though, it works in Windows 7. I had no problems installing it and for the moment everything I've tried ran normally.

Dec. 2016 my Win7 system passed the compatibility tests for VR and I ordered the first Vive original. After a one week nightmare trying to get it installed, at one point I had like 29 USB ports installed on the machine, I read a post from a woman who had been in the same predicament and fixed it with Win10. I grabbed a spare disk drive I had laying around and installed a fresh Win10, Steam, SteamVR, Vive, Viveport - it worked the first try exactly as documented.

I don't know about the Vive but the Oculus Rift works without issues on Windows 7.

They told windows 7 wont support all features that will be added and not all apps will work on the os but still no information about what exactly.

I ran one Vive Pro had just fine on Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Was using the lighthouses from the VIve HTC setup though.
