Headset won't turn on - blue led
I just got my very own Index VR.
I was very happy to give this a go after saving money for this for months.

Unfortunatly my headset refuses to turn on.

There is a constant blue led indicating it's on standby and it never shows anything else.
The FAQ tells a couple of things to try like a different power outlet, USB port, display port etc. but that doesn't work for me.

I reinstalled all the needed drivers but still nothing.
my 2 bases work fine, controllers look fine.
In fact when I start SteamVR and turn on the VR view for my desktop, I can see everything and when I pick up the headset everything is registering.

It's just that those dam lenses won't turn on.
This problem doesn't seem very common since I cannot find much on this.
Some people have said to try and mess with the cable in my headset a bit but that cable is as stuck as can be and I don't want to " break" my headset... even though it doesn't really work now anyway.

Anyone have any idea what to do? :(

Thanks for the reply.
When I plugged the headset in the first time it said it needed to update the firmware.
Before I did that I tried it out first but I already had the problem before the firmware update, I did update the firware afterwards but as you can see that didn't work :P

Small update on my part, the headset turned green for a couple of seconds.
Once I even got it on my head and saw the VR home screen.
Only for a second or 2 and the display got black again, or was gray etc.
Just for a moment on, off, on off and now it's back to constant blue.
This was after I switched from power outlet and USB a couple of times....

a small progress i guess it might help to try switch on and of all the cables, also can try to hold button on HMD and in the same time turn off power on headset and turn it back on and wait for 5sec and switch on SteamVR. I tried, but for me nothing changed.

I tried that yesterday, I managed to do that but now all that remains is error 436 and I am unable to fix it so far.
Hopefully steam support get's back to me soon

Do you have any overclock software or Revive installed?
If so, I think you should uninstall that hot garbage and restart before retesting. If that doesn't help, and re-seating the HMD cable doesn't work, contact Steam Support and get that replaced because it sounds toast.

I have the exact ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem. Just got the vr kit today. All worked well the first 2 hours. But at some point it suddenly got black and the headest doesn't turn on. Frontal leds are blue though. I don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on here. I've swapped displayports for my monitor and headset. I've changed usb port.
I tried to uninstall usb drivers. Twice.
I have the latest GPU driver update.
And I'm angry asf.

Ar the leds changin to red after while in steam vr?? Better just do the steam support ticket tell the stori and before you do straight away make log file in steamvr and add in the ticket and then wait for response. It might be the same what i had hardware failure...
