Getting the same issue. Was hoping there is a fix for this.

Using Vive PRO

Can you post a SteamVR system report from when it's in this broken state?

To obtain one of these, click the 'SteamVR' menu, 'Create System Report' and then 'Copy to Clipboard' or 'Save to File' and post the results somewhere. (There'll be a fair amount of detail so it won't fit in a comment here. Google Drive, Dropbox and similar seem to be good solutions.)

Thanks!

For nearly a year I thought SteamVR had an update that broke my wireless adaptor functionality. Would shut down after a few mins. Well, was looking through some reddit forums and discovered the adaptor is actually overheating. The devs didn't think about thermal issues. Many owners have made fan mods powered buy the usb port in the vive headset (og vive in my case). Purchased a 40mm 5v fan complete with usb connection and 3-speed switch and secured it to the top of the adaptor where the vents are. Tested for 40mins and not a single issue. Just recommend to other users that you may have a heating issue and not realise.

Thank you for the message, but my problem had nothing to do with overheating or anything. The main problem was simply an incompatible driver for Win7. When I updated to Win10, everything went smoothly :)

Apologies.
