Failed to load input bindings

I managed to remove all controller functions in the VR Compositor in SteamVR Beta. I get the message: "Failed to load input bindings for VR Compositor. Please Select another binding option. " but I can't select a new binding since I'm not able to interact with the software at all. I tried reinstalling SteamVR Beta and also the non-beta version without luck. The buttons still do nothing.

Are there any local files I can edit in order to get back the default bindings?

You can access controller config on desktop and use mouse to select new bindings:
SteamVR desktop menu -> Devices -> Configure Controller

Ive fixed it by disabling Steam Cloud Saves for SteamVR and after that i reinstalled SteamVR

Thx, this fixed it for me as well... So guess this problem can pop up whenever there is trouble connecting to steam cloud for some reason.

I was having this problem intermittently, and turning off cloud saves for SteamVR didn't help. It turned out that one of my experimental binding settings had somehow "stuck," and SteamVR kept on trying to reload it even though I'd completely removed it. It's bizarre that it was still trying to reload it but after having told it to really, REALLY delete it enough times, it seems to have finally stuck.

Did you by chance possibly?

Wipe Data out on you VR, & Removed Content that wasn't Supposed to be Removed? If so, it's possibly the reason your VR can no longer Register a Controller at all, not even after Re-Installing, oO

It is also possible that your looking for something that might be Hard Coded into your Registry of Windows?

If that's the case, then even Re-Installing everything won't fix it, either, & your stuck with Redoing Windows...

If this is the case? You know your way around the Windows Registry? You might be in luck, & won't have to worry...

Messing with the Registry if you don't know what your doing, though... Can be bad, though, so be careful, oO
