Issues with SteamVR and Windows Mixed Reality Headset
So I just recently purchased a brand new cyberpower vrready pc and I purchased a Windows Mixed Reality Headset along with it. After a couple days of troubleshooting and such I've gotten everything to work except for the VR games themselves. When I launch a game in SteamVR, nothing except for the black space with the lines shows up with a picture of the game I clicked with the three pulsating bars underneath it. After a while however these bars disappear and then I'm just left with audio from the game (specifically VRChat). Now I can see my SteamVR home and my Windows Mixed Reality Portal home just fine. It's only when I load a game from SteamVR that the games do not appear in my headset. Please, for the love of God and all things holy help me, I've been racking my brain for three days trying to fix it, I've switched the two HDMIs around thinking that maybe I plugged the wrong thing into my graphics card, but that did nothing. I uninstalled SteamVR and still nothing

Until you get things going, don't worry about getting a game working in SteamVR. Have you gotten a WMR game to work? Assuming that you've made it past that hurdle, that tells you that your system is fine. Next is to get SteamVR (just SteamVR) working. If you start Steam, look in the upper right corner of the window and notice the "VR" icon. Leave that Steam window up and start WMR.
In the Cliffhouse, use the "desktop" app to access your desktop. Go to that Steam window and click on that "VR" icon. Does that take you to a grey room with circles?
When you get it up and going, you can access your game menu. That's when you worry about steam games.

Sounds like the devs at vrchat need to update it. If your headset works, windows portal works, Steam vr works, it's the application itself.

You are running a new product so it's going to take time for them to resolve the issues. Head over to the vrchat forums or email the devs for a fix.

In addition to SteamVR, you also remembered to install the "Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR" app, right? And have you confirmed that you're starting everything up in the proper order?

Yes I've installed the Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR application and have tried starting each program in every possible order, still nothing.

Yup Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR is important.

First Start Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR and then select a game in VR. That works for me at least

Do you have two video cards by chance? One discreet, and one onboard? Sometimes the VRs get confused when this happens. I had my primary display plugged into the onboard video, and the HMD Odyssey into the GTX 1080. The same thing happened to me. Then I disabled the onboard video, and plugged both into the 1080. All was well.

According to my Device Manager I have both a Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB. However, I cannot plug both of the HDMI cords into the same port since I use two HDMI cords to connect both my PC to my monitor and the headset to the PC
