Apparently, it depends on whether you are one of those who sweat a lot and what kind of face cushion that you have, but the fact that you are asking tells me that you need to do some more research and take some precautions: like a fan.

For comfort a thin sweatband that can fit under the very top of the HMD is perfect. And then an alcohol wipe to disinfect and dry.
A fan also makes a big difference.
If you can't duck your headset under water then yes, moisture from any source will damage the headset.
My 13 year old son loves the Vive but sweats alot so I let him play 15 minutes then take 5 min break. after he is done the inside of the vive has moisture beads around the lens and side walls.
