"Please Plug In Your VR Headset"
Hello, everybody! Indiana Soldier here. I was going to play some vr untill I stubbled on a issue ( Aka Please Plug In Your Vr Headset ). I have seen other people solve this issue, Though they never are straight forward. I updated nivida drivers and also checked if bluetooth worked ( It didnt ) But it still says it was working. Hub Controls and Headset Options Are not on. ( PS. I bought The VR Headset 4 months ago and used 10 times. )

for people using the HTC vive, check the top of your headset and slide the little "htc" icon thing where the center band connects to the headset forward and you can mess with the wire in there. usually they get messed with or moved around during repairs if you ever sent them back. they may be in the wrong slot. only one USB should be open and it should be the one on the far right of the headset. there's a earphone jack, audio jack, USB 3.0, HDMI, and another USB 3.0. The far right USB 3.0 shouldn't be used by your headset's own personal USB being plugged in. that far right slot is for things like external headsets, or headphones. switching to the left side fixed the issue for me.

This is usually caused by the headset being unplugged. If everything looks good at the computer end, then the cables at the headset may have become unplugged. You need to open up the little cover on top and reseat the cables there. There are videos available that will show you how to do this, and no, it won't void your warranty.

Which headset are you using? For the Valve Index, have you enabled the beta version of SteamVR? It comes with new firmware that addresses several problems.

Did you end up returning your headset? I just got mine and I think I have the same issue. It just won't power on no matter what

I also use a dedicated PCI-E card for the Index USB 3.0.

I had this problem out of no where with my WMR headset. Been working fine for a year. Tried a bunch of things restart, switch usbs. I finally had to unplug my headset restart and plug it back in after it restarted windows detected it right away. This is a fix listed by Microsofts wmr troubleshooter.

I like how there's now a remove all USB devices in SteamVR settings/developer now. Could possibly help with issues like this. Developer -> Developer Settings
