my face is too wide for the index gasket
The stock face cushion plate only touches my face at the sides and cheekbone, and there are somewhat large gaps under the eyes and around the nose. Will valve make other plates for different face shapes?

It is a little narrow for me too, but fortunately when I tighten the rear headstrap it flexes into a better position without hurting too much.

Same issue for me. The face gasket is too narrow for my flatter face/ wide head so it hurts and I can't get close to the screen enough for the increased FOV to matter. Please release a gasket for wide heads.

I have the same problem.. I need to be closer to the lenses.. when I remove the face plate I get a better field off view and also less glare.. So I hope there will be thinner faceplate

It does not appear the VRCover product is a viable solution. The Vive with the "wide" cushion is a great fit for me. My index is getting close to the time I have to pay or bail. I'm very concerned I'm not going to be able to use it and have to go through the hassle of returning it. This discussion is a couple of years old, are there no "wide" solutions available for the Index? Thanks.

Valve Index face interface doesn't fit my face at all. It is too round and thus too narrow. My cheekbones are high which also results to huge gap in nose area. I can fit four fingers fully inside the mask. And my hand is not very small. This is unacceptable from product of this quality! Controllers and headset have plenty of adjustments but only one type of face interface available? What the frack...! Please bring back at least an option to pay slightly more to acquire wider face interface. I am not even that fat nor have a huge head. I am deeply *deeply* disappointed that there is only one size available. VRCover is not a viable option in my opinion thus the material doesn't absorb sweat. Leather/Vinyl is not comfortable on a face to wear.
Dear Valve. Please help us!

Thank you. I'll look into this. My Index is getting close to the point I'll be paying for it. Just to make sure, I ordered a pair of the OEM replacement facial interfaces from Valve. They do put some force on my temples. Overall, I think I can use them. My Vive with the wide face foam is certainly a better fit. It is amazing there is no "wide" option available.

My friend printed me a mask from this model (using PLA) adding 0.25mm to each measure. By default model is too thin and breaks too easily.

The fit is much better. The radius is bigger, which makes it more flat and therefore more suitable for large / flat faces. I am good with sowing machine so still need to make detachable and washable paddings and we are good to go!

Unfortunately, you are in a minority. What I've heard of people with wide faces doing was to get gaskets from VRCover and use the piece that is for filling the gap on the sides but using it to fill the gaps on the bottom. It is a bit jank but it could work for you. I've also heard of people making their own gaskets.
