More than 4 Base Stations ? (Lighthouse 2.0)
Hi !
I tried setting up more than 4 base stations in my workspace (between 5 and 8) to allow for more than 100 square meters, and/or to connect multiple rooms into a single tracking space.
It almost works, all base stations are detected and properly configured to different channels, but when going from one area to another there's a tracking "hiccup", where the tracking is lost for a few seconds before coming back.
I guess that this feature isn't officially supported but I was wondering if someone got it working or has clues on how to improve the setup.
Thanks :)

dude we have been trying to get this working for ages, at the moment with what I can tell is that even though you have all of the Base Stations in steam vr for the chaperone it only takes the first 4 it sees into account, and when you lose 1 it will find another one and that is when you get the grey screen flick or lose of tracking, I've tried lots of things but it always does it or even worse it completely flips out and changes the room setup.
If I eve get it working I will definatly post it on here and reddit. we need to all share how to make VR work better for every one

Thanks for your feedback ! I guess we'll have to wait for an official update on the subject...

Anyone learned anything new? I'm quite interested in this myself.

Any updates on this? We've been trying to get 16 base stations working for almost 6 months. We've been confined to 4 stations so far in our 40x40ft area and we're just barely squeezing by with a few blackout zones. We already have 16 base stations hanging up, but only 4 are powered to avoid the dreaded grey out flicker.

So I was wondering if anyone has actually succeeded in setting up more than 4 basestations with no glitches? I saw one video with 6 but they had them set up so that only ever 3 units could be seen at any time so was wondering if moving across them had the same problem

Hello Steam VR.
I have a question with connecting 5 or more basic 2.0 devices. Do I understand correctly that in beta mode they can be connected and they work in such a way that they turn on when the signal of one of the four stations is lost? I'm working with the Xsens system to capture body motion, and I'm faced with the fact that 4 base stations can overlap. I would be grateful if you give an answer after a long time, and maybe you would like to develop the capabilities of the software and beta version up to 16 cameras, while the optitreck motion capture system can do such things. with respect Alex soul MOCAP
