(SOLVED) Stuck at loading screen

Every time i try to launch a steam vr game on my HTC vive it gets stuck on the loading screen with the 3 white bars. The game runs fine on my monitor.

My Pc meets the minimal required specs and my drivers are up to date so that shouldnt be a problem.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Did you also install the Viveport software? some have had issues because they never installed it,... not sure if it'll work in your case, though, worth a try right?

There was an update today also for the vive, It may help.

Sadly it didnt work. I also noticed that when i turn steam VR on it automatically throws me into steam vr home. If i exit steam vr home and try to load back in it gets stuck again. So basically whenever i try to load ANYTHING it gets stuck

Make sure your monitor and VIVE are in the same external graphic card.

I have the same probelm on Oculus. The ONLY game working for me is Waltz of the Wizard. Is it working for you ?

My monitor is connected via a VGA cable straight from the motherboard - could that be the issue ?
(The Vive is connected to the graphics card using HDMI)

Yay ! Got it working!
Solution: I changed the input to my monitor from VGA to DVI-I and plugged it into the graphics card.

i have a suspicion i am having the same problem however my laptop [with dual 1080 cards] is set to SLI mode by default. unlike a desktop pc, i cannot add the HDMI cable into a specific port on the laptop, there is only the one.
is it possible that this laptop [made for vr] requires the SLI disabled to run VR?
if this is the case, it would not explain why the same thing happens on my desktop machine, but it only happens with this one [very large] vr scene. but my laptop is more powerful than the desktops and laptops of my colleagues and theirs runs it just fine- yet i am stuck in the 'lobby' without it letting me get any further at all [this is not the steam lobby but a custom one for the vr experience]

Hi, I am having the EXACT same issue but I have a Quest 2. Does anyone know how to fix this for Quest. I've tried virtual desktop and it worked but my internet isn't solid enough to actually have good performance. Steam VR Home is a bit laggy but I'm pretty sure that's hardware. Any solutions??

I fixed this a while ago... i can't remember what exactly I did but i think i just retried a couple times and it just worked. I thought it might be the cable cus i don't have the actual Oculus link cable but it ended up working
