[SOLUTION] Viveport not installing Steam error/problem

Solution to Viveport not installing Steam and saying TRY AGAIN everytime, after you get the installer from the Vive website.

It hangs on the Steam installer part.

Solution is to close the installer and go into the Vive folder and manually double click:

C:\Program Files (x86)\ViveSetup\Updater\App\PCClient\ViveportDesktopSetup-1.1.1.47

Then choose repair. This will install Viveport properly for you.

The Viveport application itself is called "Vive". Search it in Windows and you will find it called Vive.

To redeem your code for Tiltbrush you then click the circle in the top right and choose "REDEEM CONTENT". Enter your code there. The activated code item will be added to the Library tab in this application.

In fact, installing Viveport is useless. SteamVR is enough and gives you all the drivers needed.

Or maybe for first time hardware installation, it can be usefull.

Viveport is horrible and useless, but it is needed to activate and download the free tiltbrush code HTC gives.
