Can't get base station channel C to work
Whichever base station I set to channel C will not come out of standby mode.

I don't think the physical base station itself is the problem, because when I switch the channels on the two units, the one I switch to B starts working, and the one I switch to C stops working. I even tried setting both stations to B, and they both came online. So it seems to be something with the actual channel C.

I've tried uninstalling the Steam VR usb drivers, rebooting, power cyling the base stations and the link box. I tried a new USB cable to the link box. The firmware on everything has also been updated. The whole setup was working fine until we took it all down 2 days ago and reinstalled in a larger space (still within 16ft of each other). Before you say one of the units must have been damaged, bear in mind that both will work on channel B and neither will work on channel C.

Any ideas?

I should've specified, but I'm talking about the Vive

One must be in B and the other in C. Both powered at the same time.

B must see C and vice versa. If the distance is too large between them, they will most likely not see each other and C will just standby until it can see B. Use the link cable when the distance is tol large or other stuff is causing trouble in this area.

Just a quick update...I pointed one of them just slightly more down toward the floor, and it worked. There is a light fixture between them, and it doesn't hang down much, but it must've been just enough to block their view of each other.

They recommend they should be tilted between 30-45 degrees.

Yeah, and I had them both within that range, but I still had to adjust one of them. I didn't measure the angle, but I'd estimate I started at around 35deg and adjusted to 40deg, Just a tiny tweak downward fixed it. It didn't look like the light fixture would be in the way, but it must have been.

Doesn't matter. One of mine is at 0° and the other ~45° down.
They will still see each other. But the FOV laser-cone is different of course.

I told you it was "the other stuff causing trouble" :steammocking:
You are not allowed to block the view from base to base. If you do, always use the sync cable..

Apparently it does matter. It can make the difference between them seeing each other or not.
