How to remove white grid
Hi! I'm not in the steamvr beta but ticked the option to use steam home. Now when I first boot up my headset I start in the white background + grid. This cannot be changed by any option. Selecting any background or environment changes nothing. I then have to select home from the menu to boot up into home.

Is it possible to change the white background to any of the ones I used to use or boot directly into home. The way it is at the moment is the worst option so frustrating.

Honestly it should boot directly into home, but then again I am in the beta so that might be different, try enabling the beta.

Yeh I've noticed that if you come out of the home view back to the basic steam vr the background is gone and although you set it nothing happens. I did ask about this ages a go but no one answered.

Cheers guys for the response! Kinda glad it's not just my setup. Hopefully after a few updates its sorted. Backgrounds outside of home should still work I would have thought.

I'd prefer to not update steamvr to beta because I'd like to stay as stable as possible.

In the white grid area, do you have controllers? Mine seem to have disappeared and I dunno how I can get them back lol.

Sorry for delay. Yes I see my controllers. I found out I can change their model successfully, I can change the base units models successfully however the environment can't be changed from the white screen

That works once u are in steamvr home. But it's the initial boot up I'm more concerned about. Home isn't the first place I see.

I'm stuck in the white grid until I choose a game or steamvr home manually. After I leave a game, home loads in automatically which is fine. I just want that initial boot up to look better than the white grid it's awful.

I asked this question quite awhile ago. I don't think there is a way to do it. Doesn't matter what you choose in steam vr it never changes.

Only happened when they forced the VR Home on to us. Whilst VR Home is fun it I still prefer Steam VR. I think maybe its a bug.
