Is this going to be a gacha?

It's going to be free to play with in game purchases apparently and it is going to have that live service feel that they will be adding more story for every update.

This is a recipe for a gacha, does anyone know what direction this game is going?

In one of the trailers there was a "second currency" on the top-right side of the screen, so yeah 100% gacha.

Gacha games do not require you to buy anything to beat the game or have fun.. Nowadays, they give you loads of top characters free with just grinding and playing.

So if it is a gacha or not, it doesn't change anything for me. What matters is how fun it is, gameplay, controls, performance, quality of life, all this stuff.

In the closed beta the gacha is 0.6% rate with 50/50 and pity at 80. Guaranteed to get the character banner after if u lose 50/50.

Meh as someone that plays Limbus Company those odds are extremely low plus with that dumb 50/50.

Same as other hoyo games you mean. But hoyo games cost hundreds of millions to make and even more to support. People accept their sh*tty gacha as a necessary evil, not because they like it.
And limbus honestly is pretty valid for a small indie comparison. Its 2.6% chance with 50/50 and no stupid weapons. Average but not bad (ignoring the fact that you can get any character with farmable ingame currency, lol).

Gacha soulslike seems like a bad combination. Not what I expected. I did like the demo up till the gacha machine showed up. Then all the energy left my body.

Well, tested the Demo and it really feels like they are trying to chase that Hoyo Dragon by adding some Danganronpa vibes to it with the retro graphics style and modern graphics style mix, the music and XB Battle being something similar to Danganronpa's Trial debates. It is a pity, would love to play it but if they are going to follow a similar gacha style system like Hoyoverse games and where characters become obsolete very quickly then I don't wanna have any part of it, I do not want to go back to a commitment that everything is stacked against you unless you whale it out. Making the anime and then making a gacha out of it is kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I am already having full commitment through GBF and Limbus Company.
