"FOR A BRICK, HE FLEW PRETTY GOOD."
Idiots at Gaijin really goin neck-deep into their copy-paste phase lately, huh.
Now if the AMRAAM would work as it should per IRL, that would be a deadly combination......buuut it needs two things for that:
a) a properly working AMRAAM that can't be gamed by flying straight at it a low level
and
b) Teamwork, the one thing War Thunder seems to be unable to foster. For a multitude of reasons, like lacking Teamwide VOIP (with proper configuration).
Oh and there is also a
c) The F-4F ICE has an ECM system, which could help to protect it's element. Oh wait Electronic Warfare doesn't exist in War Thunder....
And even then the Mig-Drivers of 1./JG73 called the F-4Fs of 2./JG-73 lovingly "our Cows" (unsere Kühe).
Now the thing is, this is a weakness mitigation strategy for the flaws in both airframes, namely the F-4Fs weak WVR performance and the Mig-29 "Fulcrum-A"/9.12 Export Model/G lacking BVR capabilities. So it's not as strong as say an element of Flankers, or F-15s, or F-16s etc.
This ... it's insane to give it to France for no reason at all, this just feels like a decision based on something outside of the game.
Let's just say in the Middle ages the french kings ruled the dutch until they were kicked out...with some of the dutch citizen Militias using a weapon called "Goedendag"! (Well by the french that is!)
That name literally means "Good day!" and if someone gets hit with it, well they will not have a good day. Kinda like the world's most deadly "Knock, knock!" joke.
Then there was the 1672-1678 Franco-Dutch War, where the French attacked the dutch in the Dutch Republic after they had fought the Spanish for their freedom in the 80 years war.
To make it more hillarious the French gains forced Spanish into an allience with their erstwhile enemy.
Then there's the Napoleonic Wars
So the Dutch don't really like the french that much, granted they like the germans less?
It's complicated, at least half the Belgians kinda like the french and speak like them, the others...hmm...not so much. Though they would most definately don't like to be settled in the german tree.
Maybe british tree, after all the joke, Belgium is a country created by Britain and Germany to settle their differences! And they fought on Team Britain most of the time.
Basically the wars and relations of those countries, especially the Netherlands are that complex, that their Wikipedia List leads to several sub-lists.
What would fit with the Germans, and not too badly is a Swiss tree, after all they had some german aircraft and a french ones. Although not always the newest stuff, they flew Hawker Hunters and Mirage IIIs for ages, as well as Northrop F-5Es and later MDD F/A-18 Hornets.
I asked for this so many times i lost count.
never forget.
