Yak-9k too Op?
The Yak-9k is a fighter prop at br 4.0 do you think it should be higher?

No it's at the correct BR. The problem is in real life they wing rip at very low G and in warthunder they almost never wing rip. They also seem to be relatively indestructible. Arguably one of the harder planes to fight only because the snail refuses to actually investigate the bugs with it's model.

No bias here. Let's not even talk about how the HE nerf made the plane even stronger against almost every other nation.

You will notice across all BRs a common trend with Russian aircraft: They often play and handle a lot better than other countries. Now why is that? It's not.. exactly "Russian bias", but it's because of their guns.

I don't know what Russia's fascination is, it carries over even to their more modern vehicles (by War Thunder standards), with having little ammo in their guns. The guns are great, I think most of them use 20mms or 23mms, maybe the 37mm on some. But they will have generally less than 500 shots combined if they're lucky.

This is a cope. When a wooden airplane can pull 10Gs without wing ripping immediately it's a bias problem.

Whether or not Gajin models it correctly is between you and Gajin, as a German main, I can care less about Russian props right now.

I spoke in general terms the reality of how War Thunder balances Russian vehicles in-game. You're fine to sit here and talk about the Yak9, I'm over here telling them what to expect across their gameplay in air

All they need to know is they are going to lose to absolutely braindead players for no reason other than they picked the wrong nation. It's no coincidence Russian HE is the only HE that actually works in Air RB now. At least with Germany the HE isn't totally broken. Basically every other nation with 20mm HE may as well be using AP rounds.

A plague of Yak-9K
Wow! What is with the sudden popularity of the Yak-9K? They are everywhere now. :steamhappy:
GaiJin had the great idea of adding APHE on the 45mm guns. while it mostly affects premiums like the su-8, the Yak-9K is also affected.

basically, you can 1-tap tanks with the yak-9K now so it has become the FOTM (flavor of the month) and everybody and their grandma is playing this thing now.

truly a mgnificient decision....
I was wondering how tf yak-9k was killing tanks.
APHE is part of the default ammo belt in the YAK-9, meaning you can spawn with nuke ammo cas for cheap fighter spawnpoint cost.
On the flip side, when I have USSR on the red team, I'm much more motivated to fly CAP and ruin some yak-9's days.

Most of them are unable to even dogfight and can only do horizontal circles...well also helped by the fact that the yak-9K has a turntime of only 18s.

imagine a CAS with all characteristics a fighter would have, but with a anti tank gun with mini nukes who can one shot almost every tank if it pens the tank

This is so stupid as well, other nations get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ trying to get an AP or HVAP belts and others get it default.

Yeah.... but I heard there is no russian bias in this game. So all of you must be wrong. The white-knights said so.

Because it was ammunition used for the gun

It impacts the Yak 9K, Yak 9UT, Su-8, Tu-1 and TIS MA, 2 tech tree vehicles and 3 premiums.

I don't suppose an M16 or Wirbelwind is too far of a concept, it's not top tier with aircraft launching guided munitions at 15km, if the Yak can point at you and shoot, you can point back and shoot. They burn easily and are far from durable.
