Absolutely yes....its incredibly toxic to play.
EIther you will be set on fire, the barrel will be shot out, or both...and its over and over again.
But if you hit on an Strv you'll 50% place it in flames again. Just like the Merkava shell it's something that's not realistic just because Gaijin doesn't know how to balance ♥♥♥♥, and did an artificial nerf to keep the vehicle down.
The thing with the Strv is the same as with the Merkavas, or the french tanks back in the day, or the Centauros before overpressure was a thing, they made them busted, and then they nerfed them hard, wether by repair costs, insane BR's or this.
At least watch the video.
Sitting at 9.3 and penwise not that much worse considering it´s 60mm Darts compared to the 75mm ones on the HSTV/L and RDF/LT while only 0.5 sec slower on the reload.
The VCC also feature higher magnification optics for Gunner and Commander and the same Thermals and NVD optics but lack the IRST tracking.
Both at 1000m

Gun depression. The tall Italian vehicle can only depress to -6 degrees whereas the low slung American vehicle can depress to -17 degrees. The Italian vehicle can't really hide well.
I play both.
They've been doing this for years with multiple different nations. Some of the researchers are genuinely not worth their salt and often throw a hissy fit if someone disagrees with them - even dismissing national MOD archives.
The mods can now do what they always do when I speak up about this kind of stuff, and ban me for "insulting developers", again.
And a faster turret traverse.
My point was, that performancewise it brings a 9.3 gun into 11.7 matches.
Would it´s rounds have the same performance as M774 (roughly 50mm extra on all angles), it´s BR placement wouldn´t be that outrageous.
And before someone says, there is no way it has M774 pen values.
That conclusion came from the DARPA after testing the Gun extensivly.
9.3 vs 11.7
Italy has it´s fair share of problems aswell.
The two most prominent are:
1. The still missing composite hullarmor for the Ariete despite even it´s Manufacturer
Iveco OTO Melara stating that he has composite in Turret AND Hull.
https://web.archive.org/web/20230126040024/https://www.iveco-otomelara.com/tracked/ArieteMBT.php
2. The grossly over BR´d OTOMATIC at 11.3 while being more a 10.3-10.7 vehicle.
Honorable mention goes to the WARKIT mod for the Ariete, which should supposedly also offer good protection against APFSDS instead off measily 20-30 mm for a hefty 5 ton extra in weight.
Seems there was enough ruckus on the forums regarding the Firerate on both the HSTV-L and RDF/LT, that they adopted their official firerate.

Guess a certain Warthunder Furry can sleep well tonight.
