How to shake people off my tail in Arcade battles?
So let's say i did something a little bit stupid, and got somebody on my tail. So how do i shake them off of there? I asked this on other forums but they only made a vague, lazy excuse by saying "Do not let them get there."

when they are on your tail take a look arround, see if any of your allies are on fire. If a ally is on fire fly as close to him as possible your pursuers (you are playing arcade) are greedy and will quickly change to attack your teammate.

I don't know, they are usually in tunnel vision and wouldn't notice fat targets lining up for them if they wore big signs. What works best for me, when possible, is to fly towards my own team and hope that one of my team mates gets tempted by the guy tailing me ...

Fly low or try to outclimb them, but dont ever flight straight.

It's arcade. Even if they're incompetent it's nearly impossible to shake anybody. That's why it's called arcade. It's made for lots of quick kills, and nothing more.

Please give me an actual answer instead of a joke.

You have the answer. There's really no way. Arcade increases the performance of most planes to be very similar, so there's no real advantage to be had by anybody.

Once you get on someones tail, they're dead. That's it. There's really no getting out of it unless you get lucky.

That's why it's called ARCADE. There's nothing remotely realistic about it.

its hard in arcade but negative g canopy rolls give you a chance

It's far from impossible to shake off planes from your tail in arcade, but if the usual methods doesn't work fly low (as mentioned already) and bring the plane on your tail into your team mates fire.

Fly into a crowd of your allies. Fly at an incline so your allies won't shoot you when the enemy is behind you.

Almost impossible to get away in Arcade if you encounter good pilots, mouse aiming is just way too good and Joystick support is horrible.

If it's one person, there are 3 ways:

-Out turn them, if you are in a plane with superior turning you can turn and they have to either run away at that point, or turn fight you and that will get you a kill most likely.
-Run, if you are in a much faster plane, you can dive or try and gain as much speed as you can and increased the distance between you and your pursuer; this gives them a brief opening however.
-Use any aurbrakes, kill engine, kill as much speed suddenly as you can and let them overshoot you; you may even get lucky and be able to get a shot off. This method any plane can do for the most part, but it will leave you VERY vulnerable afterwards.

During all of that you can shake your mouse, this will trick anyone that relies too heavily on the lead indicator.

At the end of the day arcade though involves a lot of clustered attacks, usually what kills you is when 4 people all decide to shoot at you at once; which there is not really any counter to except luck.

The best option is to avoid getting tailed to begin with, but there are numerous more complicated guides on that you can look into.

Try using your rudder instead of just the mouse because people aren't used to actual player inputs. Banking right with right rudder applied to do a quick under turn sometimes works. Or spam each rudder back and forth.
it depends on what plane you are in, if you are in a P47 use your speed,if you are in a zero, use your turn ability.
Get low and try to out maneuver them. When they shoot you usually have about a 1 second delay so if you can try to move just as they fire so the bullets go left or right of you. Keep doing that until they run out of ammo. Depending on what your flying you can try to out turn them and get on there tail, or drop your speed rapidly so they fly past you. If you can't out turn them keep moving towards freindly players or units and hopefully there smart enough to help you.
