So, has the Yak-3 always be ridiculous?

Started playing somewhat recently and now that I'm reaching around the 4.0 rating I'm seeing a lot of the Yak-3 running around. It seems to go from 0-1000 faster than a rocket and it's able to gain tremendous altitude in a matter of seconds.
I am getting absolutely decimated in left and right by this plane and its making me regret playing as the U.S. and not Russia

Yaks fly on pixie dust, they're great boom-n-zoomers, great turnfighters and have great weaponry. If you fail a pass on one in a US plane, your best bet is to just use the energy gained in the dive to gain altitude again.

Yes, Yak-3 is absolutely insane, I got the French one and it's a bat out of hell.

Yak-3s have always been UFOs. You need a big energy advantage to take them on. If you're on equal energy the best you can hope for is a head-on gamble.
