Steam Review Situation

This thread hopefully will not get locked for misinfo, since at least none of my content will be inaccurate.

It is certainly strange to see that Valve has introduced the filtering option for the game. I haven't seen another game do it. They aren't exactly deleting reviews, but they certainly do have seem to gotten Valves sympathy and they enacted filtering so average users don't see real scores.

Pretty disappointed in Valve, but most of that is still pointed at Gajin. The economy isn't a simple fix, but they could've decided years ago that maybe nerfing the player economy into the ground wasn't a good PR decision.

Edit: You can disable the filtering setting by clicking reviews and changing preference. Pretty impressed by the nearly 100k reviews.

It also seems like in-game numbers are seeing a hit. WT used to average around 70-80k players daily, it has started (at least on the Steam client side) seeing less than 70k daily. I don't have a way to check the dedicated launcher stats.

at this point they are sweeping it under the rug and will probably do what gaijin does all the time and make the changes they wanted to make incrementally as to not alarm the player base.

its bussiness as usual there have been many uproars in the past due to changes in the grind they will revert the changes and then do them overtime slower and with either well written excuses or stealth mode.

I have not played the game in years because of how deceptive the company got over the years since the release of the game.But i still sometimes come back to check on the game,and unfortunately it just keep getting worse.

dont be naive,nothing will change.
just accept the game as it is or move on like i did

For everyone wondering, I've already seen a couple of games with "off topic" reviews. In this case the reviews definitely weren't off topic, but I don't know if it's steam who chooses what reviews are and what aren't inappropriate.

Hmm. In my opinion, there is a very low possibility of this being a coordinated attack. There is no evidence for or against market manipulation so this is all hearsay regardless. I highly doubt that Steam finds this to be a coordinated effort to attack this game's reputation.

What more than likely happened is that the economy changes were so negatively impactful to the community that we had several waves of influence roll through the community. The active players negatively reviewed the game first because the game immediately hurt their ability to play. After about 30.000 reviews, gaming news videos and other sources of drama likely caused another wave or two of negative reviews.
For that reason, I find it inappropriate to mark any review among the initial 30,000 as "off-topic". The negative outrage certainly inspired less interested players to give the game a disapproving review, but saying that reviews which are entirely inspired by a serious balancing blunder are "off-topic" would be disingenuous.

I hope that Gaijin goes back in and fixes the issues that players are complaining about. Consumer trust is more important than you'd realize, but it takes a while for lost trust to impact developers in most cases because gamers need constant stimulus of content to feed their quasi-addictions. If they fixed these issues I am certain they could make more money than they could by screwing over their player base. Hope they prove you guys wrong and fix their game instead of ending up like another Studio Wildcard.

Are you not familiar with reddit? they literally created a subreddit to coordinate this, nothing is being hidden. Are you all just playing dumb or are you actually oblivious of the kind of people and the agenda you are tacitly supporting. I for one think this has long since crossed the line and here you all are supporting these people and attacking us all for trying to deescalate

A couple things, Eftwyrd. I don't use Reddit because I'm not a cretin. You're not under attack.
Given how botched this update is I would say it is not far fetched to say that most of the reviews are not from bot accounts. I'm assuming that what happened is the community got very upset and said on Reddit "let's negatively review the game until they fix the issue". I am guessing I am correct. That's still not "off-topic", it's just the free hand of the consumer slapping the developer back.

Ingredients for 4 servings,
2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast (910 g), cubed
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
2 teaspoons chili powder, divided
½ teaspoon turmeric
6 tablespoons butter, divided
1 ½ cups yellow onion (225 g), diced
3 teaspoons garam masala
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cinnamon, 3 inch (8 cm) stick
14 oz tomato sauce (395 g)
1 cup water (240 mL)
1 cup heavy cream (240 mL)
rice, for serving
fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish.

Preparation
In a large bowl, season the chicken breast with salt, pepper, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, and the teaspoon of turmeric. Let
sit for 15 minutes to marinate.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large pot over medium heat. Brown the chicken, then remove from the pot.
Melt another 2 tablespoons of butter in the pot, then add the onion, garam masala, remaining teaspoon of chili powder,
the cumin, ginger, garlic, cayenne, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Cook until fragrant.
Add the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.
Add the water and cream and return to a simmer.
Return the chicken to the pot, cover, and simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
Stir in the last 2 tablespoons of butter and season with more salt and pepper to taste.
Serve the chicken over rice and garnish with cilantro.

Because that was not during a review bomb, also those are just copy pasted as well people think their funny i guess, either way it was bought about because there was 100k negative reviews in what 6 days, even if they some were helpful the system kicks in to stop review bombs from happening.

There are groups on discord and reddit that have in the past discussed and done review bombs for games as well as cause chaos in the discussion board because they find it fun, so the system was made for that.
