How not to get spotted in arcade?
I'm trying to flank with my American tank destroyers but enemies always turn back or i find couple of guys who are already looking to my flanking side even though it's their spawn side. Are there any smaller/hard to spot tanks than m10 and m18 gmc? Also any other tips than turning of my engine ?

You will always be spotted by someone or something in arcade regardless of what you do or play.

I would recommend that you try realistic incase you want to go around being sneaky. Just keep in mind that realistic is very different from arcade, you get no aim indicator, your vehicles will feel alot more sluggish and the enemies will not show up on your minimap unless someone spots them with a light tank.

Good luck to you and happy hunting

First off, it seems like you should really try RB !! You'll never ever be able to sneak / surprise flank in arcade !

Secondly, turning off the engine is a smart move when you ambush (in RB), as a lot of "finding" your enemy is following the noise. There's a keybind in the settings, just verify it.

Yes. M22 comes to mind. Other nations also have smaller tanks, generally casemates. Turrets take up a bunch of room.

Not really a valid tip for arcade. You'll only be crippling your reaction time.

As others have said the only real way to avoid getting spotted in arcade is to not play arcade.

From what I could gather, it depends mostly on how high or low the crews Keen Sight and the Visibility Rate of the vehicle is.

That spotting range increases greatly if you move and/or fire, even more when someone is looking in your generel direction (Binoculars increase the range further).

Your best bet, is using the terrain like moving behind ridge lines and hills, avoiding any kind of open or high ground until you reach a good position.

Never assume that you have not been spotted in AB.

True, but it helps greatly to keep a low profile as much and long as possible. Even if you are spotted (which is guaranteed after your first shot), you can still be a thorn in the enemies side by being a hard target to hit.

It's arcade, you're supposed to run into the center of the map in go-carts and pew pew to score as many points as you can so you can enter your initials and insert more quarters.

Which isn't far off from how RB is played, either.

Generally hard cover is way more important than trying to remain undetected in arcade BUT I do sometimes play sneaky even in arcade by using smoke shells and / or smoke grenades.

As long as you are inside an active smoke screen you will not be automatically spotted by the enemy team in arcade.

So if you have something like an M24 or a Panther for example that can deploy smoke grenades one at a time then you can technically sneak around some corners undetected.

It is only really viable for small maps with not a lot of open space though because it would take you ages to cross a large amount of space by using this method and it is also suspicious if there are 8 smoke screens forming a line in the middle of an open space :D

However you can also use this trick AFTER the enemy team has already spotted you because trust me they WILL forget where you were if you give it a little bit of time.

So technically you can like drive to the edge of the map (you will be spotted) and then deploy a couple of smoke grenades and then wait inside the screen for like a minute and after that you peak out and start shooting. Most of the enemy players will have moved on or forgotten that you were there and as long as you remain in the smoke screen you will not be automatically spotted.

I think i will be fine without the indicator since i flank and get really close to enemy tanks like less than 200 meters. I just shoot down their engine or side(ammo box).

I'm already using the engine trick, that's why i wrote it so people wouldn't waste their precious time by telling the thing i know.

Idk man I rarely make a "clean sweep" and destroy all of their "snipers" in a row.

Im trying not to use my mg to clean my way out(it's better to shoot down obstacles instead of hitting them with vehicle so you don't lose speed) since it's loud while flanking but yeah im always moving :(

My advice: play realistic, get familiar with (or rebind like I did) your freelook and binocs keys, play with a similar mentality that you already are but slower. Slower because you'll need to exercise a lot more situational awareness to avoid flanking yourself. But that same reality makes it a thousand times more feasible (and rewarding, and necessary) to utilize stealthy tricks.

FYI, binocs actually view from out of the commander's hatch, so you can scout over defilade unexposed that way, then click to pre-align your turret, switch to gun optic, pop up over the crest and quickly fire. If you bind a key to estimating target range, you can make your opening long shots count using the BDC in the gun optic reticle

Once I learned to translate my realism FPS mentality into RB tanks, the game got way more fun and interesting. I'll never go back to AB tanks

First of all, it's not possible to find cover in my situation most of the time because im right behind the enemy tank's ass. That smoke cover is really useful while capturing a open-field but i guess they will find me easier when they see the big white screen. Well i didn't know about that spotting rule of arcade about smoke screen. Thanks!

Play realistic. Seriously you guys know that arcade is meant to be a step lower in difficulty from realistic and are meant for people learning the game. The cross teaches you what parts of armour are weaker, the lead indicator creates muscle memory for planes at different speeds so you can hit target in realistic. Arcade isn’t meant to be something thats played forever. We’d probably all be playing simulator if it was made better and we all had good joysticks and ♥♥♥♥.
