Panzer III M is useless.

It's an obese pea shooter only useful for being a meat shield or annoying others with your little wrist slaps of shots. RNG also favours this tank. Bouncing off ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flat surfaces and not penetrating 30mm of armour.

You really need APCR, but it's certainly inferior to the Pz.IV F2 imo.
A functionally nill difference in armour or speed, but the F2 can one shot anything at it's BR from pretty much any range or angle. The Pz.III cannot.

the panzer 3m is alright if you are playing at its battle rating. Although you need to use APCR to do anything but you do benefit from its very fast reload.

Panzer 3 has: High RoF and decent flat pen with APHE, good speed, 75mm of armour or more in most of the front, spaced armour that protects it from some niche vehicles (Sherman howie, Su-122, etc).

It's a dang good vehicle. The penetration is enough to penetrate most vehicles from the front and can shoot weakspots or flank to penetrate everything else. I never load APCR and I have zero trouble with it.

It really isnt, the PZ III M is a great tank and while you lack explosive filler compared to the F2, you as stated before make up with the rate of fire it packs, let alone the extra armor you get on it compared to the F2

Yup. The extra armour brings it up to 75mm for the turret front and most of the upper hull with sloped 50mm plus another 15mm from the track links on the lower hull. That can bounce quite a bit of weaker guns.

Don't get me wrong, I had some good games in the M but only on arcade. Last match (RB), a T-34 and I were dueling it out for 10 minutes because I couldn't penetrate his turret front, which I may add, is hella weak. As I said, it might be just RNG digging a grave for me and waiting with a piss bucket.

The thing is absolutely brutal in realistic mode, are you trying to use it in arcade?

edit: oh just noticed you said you had some bad matches in RB. RNG doesn't really play much of a role in WT, that's more WoT's thing, practically the whole turret front is penable even over a kilometer away. Where exactly were you hitting it for it to bounce off? Were you using the APHE or wrong ammo type? A friend of mine had a bug sometimes where the game will swap his default ammo and he starts with HE loaded, be sure to check.

For me the Pz III is the Hitman of War Thunder. One into the turret, one to the engine and one for the driver. Job done. How ever, it is a great tank.

I'm pretty much the same dude. After 2300+ hours recorded on Steam and god knows how long beforehand, playing early tier tanks is fun as hell.

Panzer 4 F2, Panzer 3 or Chi-Nu 2 are my favourite tanks to play in the game. :P
