US V UK Bombers.
Any suggestions for which I should go for?

I wanted to go down the US for those heavy bombers with good defence, but I hear the UK might have better bombers overall.

Well the B29 has the best payload when compared to the British, but throughout the tree the Brits are better more often than not. The Lancaster is better than the B17, the Lincoln is better than the B24 and so on.

I've noticed that British bombers sacrifice defensive guns to achieve more speed with a slightly smaller payload than the US bombers and because of this, they actually have a better chance of surviving simply due to bomber gunners requiring a lot of luck to actually deal any significant damage to a pursuing fighter. So getting in, dropping the payload and getting out faster will help keep your plane flying longer.

UK for me. Halifax is really nice, can take out all 3 bases with a single load.

japanese bombers later on have 20mm as defensive armament whereas the brits and americans all have browning machine guns. Germans have the flimsy 13mm. Not to mention the G5N1 even though its cumbersome has an EXCELLENT airframe and bombload. Russians also have good defense and bombload as well.

The BV 238 is neither a GB plane or a US plane, it's a German plane. He is saying which would be better to get, US or GB

dude iam telling ya us bombers turrets sucks you can keep hitting plane all day long they just tank all dmg..

I don't think they're meant to shoot down planes, but act as a detterent against them.

B-29 gets almost the same payload at a lower br lel, but IL-28 is bae
your payload means jack if you dont make it to the target area.
Tu-4 heavier payload,much better defensive capabilities.

You need to research the full illushyn tree to get the IL-28

Brits absolutely
The halifax is great fun to knock out 3 bases in a single pass is fun
The Lincoln as well (dont have it yet) is a fantastic upgrade in firepower but sacrifices a little in bomb load.
Americans are good but Brits are better just because of a generally good bomb load throughout the tech tree whereas Americans the B29 and such are the only ones with a truly monstrous bomb load
