Golden eagles themselves have never been discounted before, so the chances of that happening are slim to nonexistant. What gets discounted is stuff you can buy using GE - like premium time or vehicles.

For their birthday, Gaijin discounted the top two purchase options for Golden Eagles by roughly 50%, if memory serves.

I am unaware of any holiday discounts on Eagles occuring this year or past. Time will tell.

By the way, you only have two weeks to finish your plans for Christmas.

Well then your memory is garbage. The two discounts were on premium time, not GE.

You can buy the Golden Eagles itself, because on most sales, the vehicles you can buy with Golden Eagles are 50%, so it works like the golden eagles was on sale, because you can buy the double things with it.
The first two days of the sales the american and russian are 50% off. The next two days, the germans and japanese are 50% off, and last two days of the first week of the sales, french, italian and british vehicles cost the half Golden Eagles. The exception is the Victory day sales, when germans, italians and japanese are not discounted. On second week the packs are on sale. Most of the sales (not all) works like that. Then you wait and spend the packs golden eagles on the next sale.

For example, if an american vehicle costs 2000 golden eagles, it will be 1000 on the first two days.
If a german vehicle costs 1000 golden eagles, on the 3º and 4º day of the sale, it will cost 500 golden eagles.

Last sale, after about 4 years playing for free, I had buy 5,000 golden eagles and I got a lot vehicles that would cost 10,000 if it wasn't on sale.

As stated already Eagles never go on sale but what you can buy with them will usually go on sale for 50% off near Xmas etc. You can also earn yourself Golden Eagles for free and for cheap by using the 2 freeEagles apps also.

TL:DR I've made just over 30k eagle via the apps for atleast half the price it would have cost me if I bought them from Gaijin directly.

As others have pointed out (Apologies if I'm now preaching to the choir), what is far more common are discounts on what the GE can buy you. Typically happens several times a year, and if memory serves me there is usually some kind of summer sale, anniversary sale, and winter sale, along with the occasional national holiday sale (Eg: 4th july for USA stuff).
