Had to hang up my P-80 and F-84 for a while after fighting it. Thing was almost as bad as the 84G VS early jets, lol.
I've gone to playing support instead of engaging 23s directly, only moving in on them when they're occupied on shooting down a friendly. If you've got a mate to play bait, you'd be much better off.
You'll get better results in general climbing under a TU-4 and hoping to not be shot down than you'd get by dogfighting a 23, though I believe the Vampire and Attacker can outdive it, so use that to your advantage if it arrises.
If there's no other alternative, and you must fight them directly, force them into head-ons, scissor-fight and force them to lose their energy. Only then you'll have a chance.
Should they regain speed and get on your tail, pop airbreaks if available and pray to whatever god you believe in and hope they overshoot. Fire and repeat.
