Is it possible to make copper alloy plates?
Granted my base is a bit out of the way (border zone), I really want to make several multi barrel turrets, but I'm only buying those plates 2 at a time at the waystation....anywhere ingame have a blueprint for me to make my own?

Nope, unfortunately there is no way to make them yourself. For now you'll have to just purchase/steal them from Mongrel, The Hub, and Waystation.

I feel your pain though. I built one of those s-IV outposts in my base that take 30 Copper Alloy Plates. Took me forever to get enough.

The Hub? It's in ruins... or did you mean the lil' tavern near it? I've never seen copper plates there, but I did buy some kind of red blurprint that I dropped and lost accidentally while trying to make inventor y space on the way back to home. I have no idea what the hell it was and haven't seen it since. Driving me insane.

The red blueprints are the ancient blue prints you need for some higher technologies.
They're used up in the science station like books.

Yeah the bar at The Hub is like 3 stores in one, and one of them is a Construction Trader. Which can sell the Copper Plates.

And as Tommygun said, the Red Blueprints are just artifacts for research, though there are currently no uses for them. Given their rarity though (Copper Plates are 20x more common and they're pretty rare), I'd say they will likely be very useful.
waystation sells em as well.
all 6 hive villages have 2 merchants in each; it's where i bought the ancient research books, copper plates, fabric and electronics when i needed to gather supplies. But this was 2 versions ago, so no idea if things have change in .19
I used everyone with trader x2 backpacks. and spent around 140k. and yes we drank alot of grog to relive the travel stress. :)

There are no techs available that use these. They just sit in my research station unused.
It's very hit or miss, I made a topic about this before and got the answer to go check as mongrel, waystation and the hub as well.

Went to all 3 and none of them had any alloy plates..
I just bought some at mongrel. They look exactly like building materials.
Yeah thats what i got told last time as well, but still they only ever have building materials in my game.
