Thoes were indeed the glory days for me. However as time passed I convinced myself to restart from scratch and have done so a couple times since then. My old squad is gone, merely a memory immortalized by youtube of bygone days and a bygone era.

I did try to leviathan, but you are looking at 1stat level up every 2-3of them. At 50 stat. Needless to say, that's a f*** grind. And to be honest, that would kill the game. Having people who can solo the content on easy mode is not even funny. I was just curious.
Its actually better to solo leviathans than to send in your whole squad. Levs have Huge cleve radius, and if their primary target fails to block that cleave hits almost everyone. So you wind up taking extra damage from weaker squad members.
Anyway, getting everything other than athletics up to 100 is a major undertaking, unless you cheat. Personally im rather disappointed by the ammount of training cheat mods on the workshop but to each their own, its a singleplayer game so it dosent affect me.
The highest i've ever got my strength/dex etc up to in that old save was somewhere in the upper 80's
Currently athletic and toughness raise super fast. I suppose toughness is not related to the target stat, so it will raise regardless of the hit, and wether it's a leviathan or a starving bandit. My people are quickly reaching 100 toughness, and that's very new, because they used to be stuck pretty much at the same 40-50 soft cap, a few months ago. The new uniques I recruited to swap with my old "random" companions of my main squad already have in the 70-80toughness and 40-50 in the other stats. It climb super fast.
I don't cheat either. As I said, it's already much less fun now that all my team is 50+ stats in masterwork.
The last screenshot i had of her is not quite where she was though

These days I mostly just collect things. Edgewalker Edge 3 of every weapon, every lore book, a uniform for every faction, etc. I'd still like to max my stats out, but I doubt I'll ever actually do it. Too much of a pain, and I refuse to use any mods that would make it easier/harder to do.
Overall I find the game way more fun if you don't bother with trying to raise stats. Set yourself goals in the game, and just let them increase naturally. Way more entertaining in my opinion. :D

Is my oldest, strongest, most played and most loved character. She's average strength at best but I wouldn't betray her for a million dollars cause I'm so attached to her.
I obviously had characters in the earlier stages of Kenshi's development but it wasn't until the new world map when I deleted all characters and made her that I formed any real attachments.
Note: In fact that whole *Away Team* in the screenshot is very special to me as they all add a unique and interesting true in game story to Temper's own struggles, trials and tribulations.
The new world map takes a good bit of credit for the history and attachment I have for my current main characters, they all have so much flavor on a personal level than characters from the previous map.
EDIT: I guess I should mention that I don't go out of my way to train any party members and most all training to the 50s stats is done by way of just playing naturally in my little roleplay world. =)

Just don't ask him to smith even a spoon;-)
Nah, he'll make at least an average one of those. What you REALLY don't want is him defending your wall with a turret, he's apt to headshot your own guys from a mile away behind him...
In all seriousness though. I don't train skills I find useless. Weapon Smithing has no value to me since I can find countless better weapons in ruins than can be crafted, and money is pretty worthless as well. Not about to spend hours crafting garbage weapons to raise a skill so I can craft shinier garbage... What levels I do have in Weapon Smithing come from crafting various garbage weapons to train combat skills with.
