And yes, it's the memory loss that was false. :)
we also have no evidence they don't feed on animal poop or grinded fairies.
I think the memory of the skeeltons is maybe limited so that in the long process over many years they have to forget stuff to store more information. otherwise it would be unlikely thta all of them forget everything about it. (or they just pretend they don't know anymore)
but given the AI is very complex an electromechanical replication of the brain may be so complex that they can't actively control their memory towards what they know and want to memorise and what not. That would explain the suicides (if true) otherwise they could simply delete all those evil depressing memories and Life would have been good again.
btw, how does a skeleton suicide looks like? What if the big collapse forced the skeletons to salvage each other to survive? it could very likely be that the collapse made them run out of spare parts in usfficient supply. And if they were sentient, maybe they can feel "pain" as pain is simply a self sense of your bodies status towards some states. it vould be that partial malfunctioning by the lakc of parts could cause them "pain" and make them suicide to avoid a slow death by malfunctioning.
But in the end, I guess we slip off the original topic. I make a new one for lore discussions.
If skeletons don't rquire any kid of fuel or food, how can they operate infinitely? I should/could salvage their power cores and simply make some energy sourc eof them then, because who needs wind and fuel generators to operate stuff when maybe 5 skeleton power cores could to the same?
I think there's a missed opportunity that in-game there isn't more Skeleton dialogue poking fun at this rumor:
Greenlander "Hey can I ask you a personal question?"
Skeleton "If you must."
GL "Just something I have to know."
S "I am rusting with anticpation."
GL "Okay here it goes, have you ever wanted to eat a child's soul?"
S "This rubbish again? You cannot be serious."
GL "*scratches his head* I kind of am."
S "Let me put your mind at rest, NO I have never wanted to digest the souls of lost orphaned children."
GL "Not even once? Not even the really annoying children? Come on! you can be honest with me I am your pal I won't tell anyone!"
S "I am starting to wish I had eaten you as a child."
GL "..."
GL "I knew it!"
S "*sighs*"
Now because of this thread I'm forced to imagine if they added children to the game, and the skeleton gang specialized specifically in child-slaves...
sould hunters, cattling humans to breed children.
someone has now.
And this is why we love your humor.
didnt see it transforming into that but ok.
Actually just had a discussion about this at school the other day. Modern battery technology is ridiculously limited. However, numerous near-future technologies would make possible a long-lasting battery for even a skelton's energy requirements. Of course, skeletons are rather science-fictiony.
We still have half a map and all the lore it contains to study. Once the game is complete, we may see that skeletons do have input requiements. Right now, organics don't even drink water.
Seeing as I'm already too OCD as it is about making sure each character has a massive surplus of food available at all times.
My expeditions already have a bull following them, full of food and sleeping bag. You can also load lots of food on your skellies companions, since they don't need it, to feed everyone else.
I'd like it if he was carrying water on top of it. Also, looking for water sources during your travel, hoping it rains, that kind of stuff. Kenshi is set in a very arid/desertic place, but water is almost entirely useless.
That was planned, and dropped.
